Icoustic is agnostic about how you set things up. Every Mac, iPad, and iPhone can be a library, a player, a remote — or any combination. You decide.
Library
Holds your music files and serves them to the home. One device can host the collection; others browse it without copying everything over.
Player
Where the sound comes out — a Mac on the desk, an iPad by the speakers, or whichever device you point at. Owns the queue for that room.
Remote
Any device can control playback. Pick a track on your phone, send it to the living-room player, skip, shuffle, reorder the queue.
Flexible by design
Roles aren’t locked modes. They’re capabilities you use.
Nothing forces a “server” and a “client.” A device that holds no music can still control playback. A player can also host files. Change the layout when your room — or your hardware — changes.
Mac as library, iPad as player
Keep the files on the Mac. Play through the iPad connected to your stereo. Control from either.
One device does it all
An iPad with the library on it can browse, play, and control locally — no other hardware required.
Phone as remote
Leave the library and speakers where they are. Use your iPhone to drive the queue from the couch.
