Icoustic is local-first. We built it so you can enjoy the music you own without feeding a surveillance business model.
What Icoustic stores
Icoustic indexes your music files on your device so browsing and search stay fast. That index — tracks, albums, playlists, ratings, play counts — lives locally on your Mac, iPad, or iPhone.
What we collect
Nothing. Icoustic does not include analytics SDKs, advertising identifiers, crash reporters that phone home, or account systems for listening. There is no “sign in to play.”
Network use
Playback and library browsing do not require a network connection for local files. Optional iCloud sync for playlists, ratings, and play counts uses Apple’s private CloudKit database for your Apple ID — not a third-party analytics pipeline, and not for selling data.
Files and permissions
Icoustic only accesses folders you explicitly choose through the system document picker. It persists security-scoped bookmarks so it can re-open those folders later. It does not scan your device for music without your permission.
